This assessment is suitable for clients over aged 18, and involves a one hour consultation with an experienced doctor. Prior to the appointment it is necessary to complete a detailed health questionnaire. Your appointment will be arranged once the doctor has received this. The consultation will involve a detailed history, examination and discussion on present health concerns and risk factors for chronic diseases.
The medical comprises:
Review of medical questionnaire with the doctor, including medical and family history, lifestyle and diet.
Height, weight and BMI calculation.
Eyesight test.
Urine analysis
Full medical examination
Blood pressure
Resting electrocardiogram (ECG)
Lung function tests
Blood analysis- including tests for anaemia, liver, kidney function, thyroid function, cholesterol and blood glucose.
Prostate Specific Antigen(PSA), if appropriate to test for prostate cancer.
For women a well- woman screen is incorporated and includes the following:
Breast examination and instructions on self examination.
Pelvic examination
Cervical smear is optional at extra cost.
After the medical you will receive a full record of the results with an explanation of any abnormalities. The ECG and lung function tests will be analysed and reported by a Consultant Chest Physician. Easy to understand graphs are included together with an assessment of cardiac risk score. Follow up advise or discussion is available by telephone with the doctor you met.
